A weekly update an owner can use.

Six finished jobs. Four invoices to approve. Two timesheets to chase. A practical example of a Monday update.

Notes for owners

A Monday update, in practice.

Here is an illustrative update for a service business, using fictional figures. Each line makes an action, a decision, or a deadline clear.

1. Six finished jobs are ready to invoice.

Six jobs approved last week are still unbilled. Two are waiting on signed timesheets; four have everything finance needs.

2. That is $24,000 waiting to be billed.

These jobs total $24,000, with payment due 30 days after invoicing. Each delay in billing pushes the expected collection date back.

3. Four invoices need approval today.

Finance has prepared the four invoices with complete records. The owner needs to approve them or return a specific correction.

4. Finance now receives approved jobs daily.

The daily handoff agreed last week is running. We are tracking the time from client approval to draft invoice, with the two missing timesheets flagged for follow-up.

5. Two timesheets are due Tuesday.

The project leads will provide the missing timesheets by Tuesday. Finance can then prepare the remaining invoices before Friday’s billing review.

Keep the supporting detail in the full report. The update should make the next action, its owner, and its deadline easy to see.
